Saraswati Pujo Coming Up
January 25, 2025
As winter settles in and the air turns crisp, it’s time once again for Prothoma’s Saraswati Pujo, a celebration of learning, music, and devotion.
Revisit those childhood memories of placing your books at the goddess’s feet, crafting colorful paper chains, and waiting for that first bite of kul.
Join us for this cherished annual tradition:
📅 Sunday, January 25, 2025
🕛 Noon onwards
📍 Fremont Downtown Event Center
The pujo will be followed by a traditional khichuri bhog lunch and performances by our talented children.
Come celebrate knowledge, community, and creativity — and join us for the final event of this Prothoma Board’s term.
Kali Pujo was a tremendous success
We are in the news again!
Celebrating the folks whose efforts made Prothoma
This Kali Pujo, was our 5th. And the last event of the year, we celebrated all those who have made Prothoma what it is and all the volunteers who have worked tirelessly all year to make our events happen.
Durga Puja was an amazing experience
From new Protima to our tradition of writing a new song. Prothoma knocked it out of the park
Even though our flagship event Durga Pujo is over, its never too late to join Prothoma.
Volunteer, take pictures with your friends in your pujo finery, enjoy the best food in the Bay Area and watch incredible Bollywood and Bangla artists for a low membership price.
This year’s cultural line up included Mahalakshmi Iyer, Lakkhichhara and Anirban Bhattacharya and the Hooliganism band
We are immensely grateful to …

Bringing the Bengali community together
Founded in 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic, Prothoma began as a bold idea: to create a Bengali social and cultural space that felt personal, warm, and rooted in tradition — even during uncertain times. Since then, we’ve continued to grow steadily, winning mindshare not only among Bengalis across the Bay Area, but also within the broader Indian community. Despite thousands of attendees at our events, Prothoma is known for its intimate, welcoming atmosphere — where everyone knows your name and every celebration feels like coming home. Our flagship Durga Puja, along with Barshabaran, Saraswati Puja, Kali Puja, and our annual summer picnic, reflects a unique blend of cultural richness, creativity, and community spirit that sets us apart. Its not too late….
